According to BACTA research the number of amusement machines sited in the UK is estimated to be 234,000. BACTA also estimates that £10.29 billion was put into AWP and gaming machines (excluding FOBTs) in 2005, with £8.23 billion being returned in prizes, giving a net consumer expenditure of £2.06 billion. It is also estimated that the amusement machine industry employs approximately 22,000 people.
